Laurie Dahl, FNP

-Medical Director

Laurie is a Board Certified Family Nurse PractitionerNur credentialed by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and walks in life.

Laurie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at Chamberlain College of Nursing In Downers Grove, IL, and her Masters of Science degrees in Nursing at Concordia University Wisconsin with the completion of her Family Nurse Practitioner residencies at Sanford Health in Canby, MN, Montevideo Medical Clinic in Montevideo, MN and Johnson Memorial Health Services in Dawson, MN. She received training at private practices in both Texas and Minnesota covering Pediatrics and ENT. She also received extensive training in rural healthcare management in Minnesota. Laurie has also worked as a registered nurse in a rural healthcare facility Med/Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Surgery, OBGYN, and Emergency room nursing. She was the Cardiac Rehab Coordinator for Johnson Memorial Healthcare Services in Dawson Minnesota for two years before finishing her MSN and moving to Oregon.

With a lifelong passion for the art and science of nursing, Laurie began her career in medicine working with the Geriatric population in long term care before moving to rural healthcare. She takes great pride in helping others in need, and has participated in Mission trips to Nicaragua to help educate the elementary age children on healthcare, as well as volunteering as a 5+ year volunteer as a counselor and nurse at the Children’s Grief Connection helping children that have had a loved one die and learn about grief and making it a healthy situation for both the family and the individual.

In her spare time, Laurie enjoys spending time with her two children, family, and friends. She also enjoys traveling, swimming, playing basketball and enjoying the outdoors.

Practice Philosophy:

Laurie believes that empowering her patients to be active participants in their own healthcare through education and a strong patient-provider relationship can lead to patients achieving their health goals. She feels that the provider’s role is to provide support for the patient and allowing them to be responsible for their health and healthcare decisions. Laurie focuses on disease prevention through health promotion and education. She emphasizes lifestyle modifications to enhance her patients’ overall quality of life. She believes that optimal health can be achieved by utilizing all that science has to offer – including both conventional and integrative medicine.
